Eileen Hatfield

Eileen (Cramer) Hatfield, 89, of Washington, passed away peacefully, surrounded by all of her family on Friday, February 16, 2024. Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; parents William and Thelma; sister Jerry; and brother William. Surviving are her children, Kenneth (Nancy, deceased), Cynthia (Bernard), Judith (Roger), and Katherine (Edward); her beloved 15 grandchildren; and her sisters, Margie and Sally. Eileen was a Trinity High School class of 1954 graduate and lived most of her adult life in Washington County, where she formed great friendships with neighbors and colleagues. She worked as a receptionist at her husband’s chiropractic practice in downtown Washington as well as her daughter’s podiatry practice for many years. Eileen enjoyed vacations to the beach with her family and camping trips to Raccoon State Park. She was a lifelong listener of Elvis and loved watching the Steelers play on a Sunday afternoon. She was a devoted grandmother who loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Eileen was always in constant communication with her loved ones, often worrying about them and keeping them in her prayers. She loved watching them grow and often spent weekends at games, dance recitals, and graduations for them. Family and friends are welcome from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, February 21, 2024, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd, 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 22. Burial will be held in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Hickory.
