Edward R. Slosky, 86, of Washington, passed away on April 5, 2018, in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born in California, PA on April 1, 1932, a son of the late Edward and Mary Ballant Slosky. Edward graduated from California High School and received his master’s degree from Indiana University of Bloomington, Indiana. Edward also served in the United States Army. He was a retired school teacher from Washington School District, where he also coached Football and Track for 17 years. Edward's proudest moments were being part of the 1949 California High School championship football team, and being inducted into The PA Sports Hall of Fame. Edward was a true outdoorsman, and loved to garden and spend time with his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Loretta Friend Slosky. Also surviving are a son, Jeffrey E. Slosky of Toms River, NJ; a daughter, Patricia (Eugene) Briggs of Hickory; and a grandchild, Edward “Eddie” Slosky of Toms River, NJ. Deceased is a sister, Marilyn Friends will be received on Sunday, April 8th, from 6-8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
