Edward M. Minton

Edward M. Minton, 91, of Tennessee, formerly of Washington, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2024, in Alive Hospice, Murfreesboro, Tennessee. He was born October 27, 1932, in Graysville, Greene County, a son of the late Wiliam Minton and Catherine Meighen Minton. Mr. Minton was a 1950 graduate of Richill Township High School in Greene County. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Minton worked for Star Dynamics as a machinist and retired after 47 years of employment. He was a 50-year member of the American Legion Post #175 and a member of the Masonic Lodge, Sunset Lodge #237, and a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post #4793. On August 20, 1953, he married Patricia J. Rutan Minton, who passed away January 25, 2017. Surviving are a daughter, Jody Lynn Bond of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; a son, Douglas E. (Angela) Minton of Washington; a brother, Frank (Evelyn) Minton of Washington; two grandchildren, Tiffany Staggs of Tennessee and Katelyn Barney of Tennessee; and three great-grandchildren, Braeden Staggs, Lucas Pruskowski and Laken Allen. Deceased are siblings Dorothy Thompson, Madge Ferrell, James Minton, John Minton and Robert Minton. Family and friends will be received from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 8, 2024, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2024, with Pastor Leonard officiating. A Masonic Service will be held at 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Interment will be held in Prosperity Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by Edwin S. Linton American Legion Post #175.
