Edith J. Morris

Edith J. Morris, 103, of Washington passed away December 22, 2017 at Premier Washington Health Center. She was born June 15, 1914 in Smithton, PA a daughter of Wentzle Nightman and Anna Dietz Nightman. Edith attended Fort Robinson High School in Westmoreland County. A homemaker, she was a member of Jefferson Avenue United Methodist Church, active with the United Methodist women, and also taught kindergarten Sunday school for many years. She was known for telling Bible stories. Edith was active in Cub Scouts as a den mother. On May 13, 1936 she married John Brooks Morris who passed away January 7, 1994. She is survived by a son, James B. Morris of Washington; daughter Marjorie A. Morris (Bruce Martin) of Bethel Park; niece Janice Wolfe of Washington; nephew Daniel (Kathy) Morris of Washington; also, additional nieces and nephews. Deceased are brothers, Vincent, Frank, and Joseph Nightman; sister Mildred Johnston. Friends will be received Tuesday December 26 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm and 6:00 -8:00 pm in William G. Neal Funeral Home Ltd.  925 Allison Avenue Washington, where services will be held on Wednesday, December 27th at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Rand Edwards Officiating. Burial to follow at Washington Cemetery.
