Duane "Wayne" Delmar Loar

Duane “Wayne” Delmar Loar, 67, of Avella, died on December 5, 2021, in Washington Hospital. He was born on June 22, 1954, in Washington, a son of the late Joseph Winford and Ochel Lelia Richardson Loar. Wayne had attended Washington High School. Mr. Loar had worked as a truck driver for Waste Management, and was a local D.J., known as “DJ Double D.” An animal lover who loved spending time outdoors, Wayne enjoyed fishing with his daughter Brandy and his friends, and riding motorcycles with his sons, Duane and Matt, and family, and he also enjoyed hunting and gardening. On July 10, 1999, he married Alice “Lynn” Hatfield, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Duane D. (Bethany) Loar II, of Easley, SC, Brandy (James) Chase, of Claysville, and Matthew Loar, of Derry; two sisters, Elma Ann (the late Lloyd) Richards, of Washington, and Barbara Lou (the late Donald) Bird, of Washington; seven grandchildren, Ashley (Ricky) Tomlinson, Nicole Loar, Andrea (Fiance Clayton Kraushaar) Chase, Emily Chase, Briar Chase, Veronica Loar, and Andrew Loar; a great grandchild, Paisley Tomlinson; numerous nieces and nephews; and his good friend, Jack Garret, who was his fishing buddy. Deceased are three siblings, Josephine Hattie Loar, Donald Allen Loar, and Walter Union Loar. Friends will be received on Thursday, December 16, 2021, from 2 until 4 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 17, 2021. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA, at www.ASPCA.org.
