Dorothy Mae “Dottie Mae” Zawacki, of Claysville, died January 16, 2023, in her home. She was born March 27, 1955, in Washington, the daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy Hall McMullen. A graduate of Trinity High School, she also attended Washington High School. Dorothy, along with her husband, owned Zawacki Swap Shop in Washington. She also worked at Holiday Inn, Meadowlands, and Thomas Campbell Apartments in housekeeping. An avid bowler, she loved spending time with friends and family, as well as her dogs and cats. On October 28, 1978, Dorothy married John Joseph Zawacki, Jr. who died December 1, 2021. Surviving is a son, J R Zawacki; two brothers, George (Nancy) McMullen, and Harold (Sandy) McMullen; grandson, Dustin; nieces and nephews, Georgie (Teresa) McMullen, Joyce McMullen, Stacey (Michael) Parker, Jeff (Melisa) McMullen, and Amy Powell; great nieces and nephews, Sydney (Steven) George, Jake Mikec, Cassandra Clayton, Jordan McMullen, Keegan McMullen, Ethan (Lea) Powell, and Zoe Powell; great-great nieces and nephews, Brayden, Amiyah, Savannah, Axell, and Lincoln. Family and friends will be received Friday, January 20, 2023, 2pm until 4pm, and 6pm until 8 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. There will also be a visitation Saturday, from 10 until 11 am, followed by a service at 11 am. Interment will follow in Claysville Cemetery.
