Dorothy J. Sowers, 87, of Washington, died Monday, April 30, 2018, at the Washington Hospital. She was born July 19, 1930, in North Fayette Township, a daughter of the late Hoyt and Ora England Hall. Dorothy retired April 1, 1988 from Union National Bank. She was an avid Steelers fan, and enjoyed building jigsaw puzzles, watching Gunsmoke and listening to country music. Surviving are a sister, Alma (William) Woodhall, of Natrona Heights; a brother, Raymond (Shirley) Hall, of Mesa, Arizona; two grandchildren, Brandy Tustin and Jonathan Tustin; many nieces and nephews and her devoted friend, Tammy Riggle. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol A. Strogish; a sister, Lila Pleskovich; and a brother, Hoyt Hall. Friends will be received Friday, May 4, 2018 from 10 a.m. to noon at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 pm in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, with Father George DeVille as celebrant. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
