Dorothy “Dot” Jane McDaid, 93 of Eighty-Four, died Friday, July 10, 2020 at the Washington Hospital. She was born March 31, 1927 in Chartiers Township the daughter of the late James Woodruff and Mary Feiszli Woodruff. Dot attended Canonsburg High School and worked at Gimbels, Tygart Valley Glass, Tupperware, and J.C. Penney’s. She attended Pigeon Creek Presbyterian Church and used to teach Sunday School at Viewcrest Presbyterian Church. Dot enjoyed bowling in her younger years and researching genealogy, scrapbooking, and reading. She loved going to church, Bible reading and taking care of her husband and kids. On January 6, 1950, she married Glenn “Ed” McDaid, who survives. Surviving are three children, Glenn E. (Rebecca) McDaid Jr., Debbie (Robert) Gamble and Lisa McDaid all of Eighty-Four; three grandchildren, Victoria M. (Charles) Schury, Beverly L. (Kevin) Brennan, Celina J. (Sawyer) Johnson; six great grandchildren, Samantha, Bo and Miranda Schury, Katie, Sean and Shivonne Brennan; several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two sisters, Betty Gray MacIntosh and Virginia Sedmak. Friends will be received Tuesday, July 14, 2020 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Home Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Dykstra officiating. Burial will follow at Woodruff Memorial Park.
