Doris Ann Piatt, 85, of Washington, died April 6, 2022, in Southmont Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington. She was born on August 11, 1936, in Albion, PA, a daughter of the late Anton and Alice McDonald Anderson. Doris graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. She was a music teacher at North Franklin Elementary School and gave private piano lessons. She also composed and published music. Mrs. Piatt was a dedicated member of Avery United Methodist Church, where she was a frequent volunteer for church activities. Doris enjoyed knitting and crocheting and feeding the birds. But mostly she loved spending time with her friends and family. On August 13, 1960, Doris married Ralph Edwin Piatt, who died March 21, 2010. Surviving are sons, Donald (Lucy) Piatt, Daniel (Maria) Piatt, Dennis (Mary) Piatt, David (Kimberly) Piatt; grandchildren, Jacob Piatt, Francesca (David) McNeill, Juliet Piatt, Katie (Adam) Wisniewski, Christopher Piatt, Andrew Piatt, Samuel Piatt, Matthew Piatt, Elizabeth Piatt, Mary Hannah Piatt, Patrick Cassidy, Morgan Young, and Jessica Piatt; and great-grandchildren, Audrey Joy Wisniewski, and Ember McNeill. Friends and family will be received on Friday, April 15, 2022, from 2pm until 4pm, and 6pm until 8pm, with a service on Saturday, April 16th, at 10am, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Erik Hoeke officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Washington City Mission, 84 W.
