Donna May Bryner, 73, of Washington, died July 24, 2021, at Washington Hospital, after several years of declining health. She was born November 7, 1947, in Washington, the daughter of the late Carl and Nellie I. Berdine Whipple, Sr. Donna May graduated from Trinity High School and worked many years at Wolfdale PX Market, later known as Town & Country Market, behind the counter and in catering, She survived cancer for more than 20 years, after initial surgery, and was an inspiration to others with cancer. On December 4, 1965, Donna May married James W. “Peg Leg” Bryner, Sr., who died February 23, 1997. Surviving is a son, James W. (Darla) Bryner, Jr., of Washington; daughter, Jody L. (Fred) Darnley, of Claysville; brother, Fred Chase, of Washington; grandchildren, Robbie (Stephanie) Darnley, Robert Clemens, Sunni Bezusko, Kayla Clemens, Bridget Zemalkowski, Sierra Bryner, Lexie Bryner, Hunter Bryner, and Courtney Crouch; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Braelynn, Sierra, Conner, Colton, Taylen, Brylee, Eli, Stella, and Easton; and a huge extended family. In addition to her parents and husband, Donna May was preceded in death by sisters, Carol Crouch, Shirley Marsicano; brother, Carl “Bud” Whipple; grandchild, Kandi Darnley; and nieces, Mandy Chase, and Sherrie Neal. Friends and family will be received Friday, July 30, 2021, 2:00-4:00 p.m. and 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00-11:00, the time of service in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
