Dennis Arnold Prout, 72, of Washington, died on January 10, 2022, in the Washington Hospital. He was born June 23, 1949, in Philadelphia, a son of the late Charles and Eleanor Pentoney Prout. A Vietnam veteran, Mr. Prout served in the Army, from September 16, 1966, until his honorable discharge on September 15, 1969, with a rank of Specialist-5. He worked in security at Pittsburgh International Airport. Surviving are his wife, Davidine Kern Prout; three sons, James Prout of Florida, Charles Prout of Monessen, and David Prout of Burgettstown; two step-children, Jennifer Cool of Hanover and Timothy Sirk of York; two brothers, Lionel (Nancy) Prout of Texas and Ronald (Peggy) Prout of York; four sisters, Ruth Long of Industry, Irene Harvey of Littlestown, Donna Pritt of Littlestown, and Dora Edwards of York; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Deceased are a brother, Wilson Ferguson, and two sisters, Jean Trent and Eileen Sentz. Friends will be received on Thursday, January 13th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and Friday, January 14th, from 2 to 3 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Rev. Philip Pace officiating. Burial in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be private.
