Donald W. Phillips, 86, of Washington, formerly of East Finley Township, passed away Monday, January 6, 2025, in Washington Hospital. He was born January 19, 1938, in Claysville, a son of the late Harry E. Phillips and Wilma M. Dague Phillips. Donald attended Claysville High School. He retired from McAnallen in 1997, where he was employed as a carpenter. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 541 of Washington and Local 18 of California. Donald was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church for over 50 years. He loved woodworking, especially making toys and lawn furniture. After retirement, he enjoyed traveling in his motor home. He also enjoyed playing dartball for Claysville Grange. On March 29, 1958, he married his wife, Cleo M. Hillbery Phillips, who passed away on August 26, 2017. Surviving are three sons, Donald L. (Denise) Phillps of Florida, James M. (Michele) Phillips of Washington and David W. (Mary) Phillips of Canonsburg; five grandchildren, Amanda Phillips, Justin (Summer) Phillips, Donald Phillips Jr, Paige (Justin) King and Carley Phillips; three great-grandchildren, Annabelle, Hunter and Logan; a brother-in-law, Jack Grandel; and a sister-in-law, Lois Phillips. Deceased, in addition to his parents and wife, are a brother, Herbert Phillips; and two sisters, Ethel (Robert) Phillips-Ryan and Helen Phillips-Grandel. Arrangements are private and entrusted to William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
