Diane F. Wiencek

Diane F. Wiencek, 78, of Washington, died January 1, 2024, in Southmont of Presbyterian Senior Care. She was born July 13, 1945, in Washington, a daughter of the late Steve and Bessie Fay Wiencek. Ms. Wiencek was a graduate of Washington High School. She was a member of St. Hilary Church of St. James Parish. Ms. Wiencek retired from the Washington County Health Center, where she had worked in the laundry department. She loved her family and her dogs, especially Mario and Luigi, who were her pets as well as companions. Surviving are a brother, Stephen Wiencek; a niece, Amy Curtis (Michael); a nephew and godson, Matthew Wiencek; two great-nieces, Allyson and Erin Popeck. Deceased is a brother, Michael Wiencek. The Wiencek family wishes to express their appreciation to the 5th floor staff at Southmont, along with the staff of Amedisys Hospice. Friends will be received from 10 till 11 a.m., the time of a Blessing Service, on Thursday, January 4th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Burial will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Washington Area Humane Society.
