Derrick J. Puskarich, Sr., 68, of Washington, died on April 2, 2023, in Washington Hospital. He was born on August 8, 1954, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Michael and Helen Bednar Puskarich. Derrick graduated from Trinity High School in 1972. He retired from Caterpillar where he had worked as a machinist and supervisor. Mr. Puskarich was a member of Croation Fraternal Union and Shopmen’s Local Union #527. He was a hardworking man with a passion for farming, hunting, cars and tractors. He also enjoyed going to Bob Evans every day, where he and his friends sat and solved the problems of the world. On April 16, 1992, he married his soul mate and love of his life, Diane Dyson, who survives. Also surviving are three children, Dara (David Gatten) Puskarich, of Washington, Drew Puskarich, of Washington, and Derrick Puskarich, Jr., of Washington; two brothers, Nick (Laura) Puskarich, of Houston, and George (Sherri) Puskarich, of Belle Vernon; two grandchildren, Willow and Amelia; a nephew, Shawn; and three nieces, Denise, Alexandra, and Savannah. Deceased is a sister, Violet McAdams. Friends and family are welcome on Friday, April 7, 2023, from 4 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington. There will be no funeral service. A celebration of life will be held on April 15, 2023, from 2 to 6pm at the stone pavilion of Washington Park.
