Dennis Lee “Denny” Verderber, 64, of Washington, died on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, in the Washington Hospital. He was born on June 22, 1953, a son of the late John Alden, and Joan Hazlett Verderber. A member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Denny worked at ARC, where he was recently recognized for forty-two years of service. He was the world’s biggest Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Denny was very active in the Special Olympics with swimming, golfing and softball. He enjoyed bowling every week, word search books, and loved playing pool weekly with his dad. Surviving are three brothers, William J. (Nell) Verderber, of Riverside, CA, Timothy J. (Pam) Verderber, of Washington, and Gregory J. Verderber, of Monroeville; three sisters, Suzanne L. Verderber, of Goose Creek, SC, Nancy J. Verderber, of Washington, and Kathleen A. Lightner, of Washington; and a nephew, Samuel Verderber. Friends will be received on Friday, December 15, 2017, from 2 to 7 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 16, 2017, in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, with Father William Feeney as Celebrant. Those attending viewing and service, are encouraged to wear their Pittsburgh Steelers attire. Entombment will follow in St James Mausoleum, Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
