Deloris F. Lyle

Deloris F. Lyle, 78, of Avella, died December 17, 2021, in Washington Hospital. She was born on June 15, 1943, in Washington, the daughter of the late Cleo and Elizabeth Felton Calvert. Deloris was the owner and operator of Taylorstown Country Store and served as Postmaster for a period of time. She had a big heart and always went out of her way to help others. She played dart ball and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She loved to travel, especially to Myrtle Beach and Ocean City, and loved any time that she could spend with her grandchildren. Deloris attended Taylorstown Christian Church. On December 15, 1961, Deloris married Charles Lyle, who survives. They recently celebrated 60 years of marriage. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter Patty (Darryl) Briggs, of Taylorstown; son, Greg (Dana) Lyle, of Cape Coral, Florida; sisters, Ada (Harold) Leone, of Franklin, OH, and Audrey (Gary) Butler, of Washington; grandchildren, Justin (Martha) Briggs, Charles Lyle II, Tyler (Christina) Briggs, and Sydney Lyle; great-grandchild, Merek Briggs; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Deloris in death was her brothers, Robert and Wilbur, and sisters Kitty, Evelyn, Jean, and Pat. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, from 6-8 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, the place of service on Thursday, December 23, at 10 am. Her final resting place, the Washington Cemetery.
