Delores Marie Gerbliss, 92, a long time resident of Canonsburg Pa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 2. “Dolly”, as she was known to friends and family, was born in Bridgeville, Pa. on July 11, 1928, the daughter of Frank and Mary Shalbort Drabeck. She attended McBride School for 8 years then Trinity and Washington High Schools. She was in the first graduating class of Pittsburgh Beauty Acadamy eventually opening her own salon. Dolly worked at the RCA plant in Canonsburg. She worked in retail sales specializing in Children’s clothing, at Byers Children Shop South Hills Village and The Bon Ton of Washington from where she retired in 1977. She often said her favorite Job was waitressing at Angelo’s Restaurant because of meeting such a variety of people. Dolly will be remembered for the love and support she provided for her family and for her wonderful sense of humor. She loved sharing jokes and stories that would bring a smile to the face of others. She enjoyed league bowling, gardening, ceramics, and making afghans but time with her family brought the greatest joy to her life. Dolly was preceded in death by four brothers, Edward, Frederick, Walter and Robert Drabeck, and her Husband John Gerbliss, whom she married in 1977. She is survived by two children Thomas J. (Randee) Mossburg of Peoria, Az. and Sharon Marie Mossburg of Washington, grandchildren Janice Lynn (Joe) Maddox of St Louisville OH, Kyra Leigh Allyn of Wilmington NC, Valarie Ann (Michael) Schofield of Washington Pa and two great grandsons, Cameron John and Ryan Joseph Schofield, along with several nieces and nephews. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all services will be held privately at William G Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Hospice or Disabled Vets organizations.
