Debra Ann Saffel

Debra Ann Saffel, 71, of Washington, died Friday, July 1, 2022, in her home. She was born February 23, 1951, in Washington, a daughter of the late Willard Varner and Virginia Dumont Varner. Mrs. Saffel was a homemaker who enjoyed baking. Her hobbies included doing jigsaw puzzles and watching television, especially her favorite television shows, NCIS and Walker, Texas Ranger. Mrs. Saffel loved her dog, Lady. On June 19, 1968, she married John Daniel Saffel, Sr., who died July 30, 2021. Surviving are two sons, John Daniel Saffel, Jr., of Florida, and Richard Saffel, of Washington; four daughters, Suesann Moss, Sandra Dee Saffel, and Patricia Ann Saffel, all of Washington, and Lisa Varner Baumgardner, of Washington; two brothers, Gary George, of Pittsburgh and Bobby (Janet) George, of Burgettstown; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a brother, Larry, and five sisters, Marlene, Donna, Gail, Bonnie, and Faye. At the request of the deceased, all services are private.
