Dean Martin Lazear, 76, of Washington, died peacefully on May 17, 2018, surrounded by his family. He was born September 14, 1941, at Ohio Valley Hospital, a son of the late Lawrence William and Helen Louise Lazear. Mr. Lazear served in the United States Army. He worked as a dairy farmer, drove a charter bus for GG&C for over 30 years, and worked as a security guard for Amguard. On September 14, 2007, he married Beverly “Sue” Scott, who survives. Also surviving are seven stepchildren, Georgia Bedillion of West Finley, Carol (Ronald) Ringer, Karen Ringer, James (Wanda) Scott, all of Washington, Janie (Robert) Roudebush of Amsterdam, Ohio, Cindy (Walter) Davis of Amity, and Nancy (Pete) Pasierbek of Washington; a step daughter-in-law, Darlene Scott of West Finley; 15 step grandchildren; 24 step great-grandchildren; four step great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, Charles (Debbie) Lazear of Marianna. Deceased, in addition to his parents, are a stepson, Arthur Scott, Jr.; a step son-in-law, Harold W. Bedillion; a step granddaughter, Andrea “Missy” Langham; a sister, Betty Cummins; and his companion of many years, Anna B. Semple, who died December 1, 2003. Also deceased is his beloved dog, Ginger. Friends will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 22nd, with Rev. Sue Petritis officiating. Burial in North Buffalo Church Cemetery will be private. Following the service, military rites will be accorded at the funeral home by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
