David Law Zickefoose, 91, of Claysville, died December 29, 2023, in his home. He was born December 12, 1932, in Cubana, West Virginia, a son of the late Law and Virgie Sloan Zickefoose. Mr. Zickefoose earned a Bachelor of Art’s degree in agriculture at West Virginia University. He worked his entire career as a technical service representative for farm equipment manufacturers. Mr. Zickefoose was an avid hunter and gardener, and enjoyed tending to his fruit trees and canning food. A Korean War era veteran of the Army, he served from March 25, 1953, until his honorable discharge on March 28, 1955, as a sergeant. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. On September 10, 1966, he married Lois Linnette Moore, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Mark Zickefoose and Brian Zickefoose; three daughters, Renee (Ed) Walker, Shelby Zickefoose, and Sharon (Michael) Sheridan; 13 grandchildren, Ashlynn, Summer (Joe), Justin, Brandon, Hannah, Morgan, Lacie, Lilly, Dominic, Jacob, Gavin, Adelaide, and David; seven great-grandchildren, Avery, Makayla, Madison, Brody, Corey, Peyton, and Sara; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are brothers, Joe, Dick, Rex, Arthur, Amal, and Paul, and sisters, Donna Boone and Zita Lee. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, January 4th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 9 a.m., Friday, January 5th. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, 168 Park Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
