David Lawrence Flannigan, Sr., 59, of Washington, died on Friday, June 21, 2019, in the Washington Hospital. He was born on October 8, 1959, in Washington, a son of Charles Flannigan, of Apache Junction, AZ, and Norma Gordon, of LaPuente, CA. A graduate of William Workman High School, in Industry, CA, he was Baptist by faith. Mr. Flannigan was a veteran of the United Sates Navy, having served aboard the USS Thomaston. For his service, he was awarded the Humanitarian Service Medal, Navy Expeditionary Medal, and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon Award. Mr. Flannigan worked as a foreman for a medical supply company. David enjoyed basketball, football, NASCAR Racing, tennis and music. He loved the latest technology, and especially loved spending time with friends and family. He prided himself in mentoring family members in the Navy. On August 23, 2003, he married Marcella Wright, who survives. Also surviving are four sons, Domonic (Evette) Howell, Sr., Keith (Jordan) Wright, Robert Wright and David (Courtnei) Flannigan, II.; three daughters, Crystal (Erick) Boyd, Ashley (Jonathan) Flannigan and Kourtney Wright; two brothers, Darryl Flannigan and Charles Flannigan, Jr.; a sister, Debra (Gregory) Flannigan-Wisner; fifteen grandchildren, Domonic, Devin, Alicia, Jasmine, Janail, Eliza, Jalisa, Jonathan, Jason, David, Janessa, Erick, Cailyn, Elijah and Daureece; as well as several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Tuesday, July 2, 2019, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA, where services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 3, 2019, with Rev. Richard White officiating. Burial will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, where full military rites will be accorded by the Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 of the American Legion.
