Darlene Marie Briant

Darlene Marie Briant, 71, of Prosperity, died on March 11, 2021, in the Washington Hospital. She was born on June 19, 1949, in Cleveland, OH, a daughter of the late Raymond and Effie Fisher King. A 1966 graduate of Jane Adams Catholic High School, she was a member of Fairmount United Methodist Church. Mrs. Briant was proud to work alongside her husband as manager and dispatcher for his trucking business. An avid Cleveland Browns fan who loved her grandbabies, Darlene enjoyed bowling, birdwatching, reading, traveling, and crossword puzzles. One of her favorite pastimes was watching her deer outside her back window. Darlene married Michael Ianetta on June 3, 1967, whom she was with until his death. On October 7, 1987, she married Richard Briant, Jr., who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Amber Briant Parkinson, of Prosperity; three stepsons, Stephen (Diane) Briant, of Moon Township, Wyatt (Wendy) Briant, of Washington, and Wesley (Christy) Briant, of Washington; two stepdaughters, Marjorie (Raymond) Ruschel, of Washington, and April Briant, of Toccoa, GA; a brother, Ryan (Alisa) King, of Finleyville; seventeen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a stepson, Richard Briant III; four brothers, Gary Barnhart, and Raymond, Barry and Bryan King; and a sister, Marion Greathouse. Friends are welcome to attend the burial and graveside service, at West Alexander Cemetery, on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at 10:30 a.m., with Rev. Scott Lawrence officiating. All those planning to attend are asked to please meet at the cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301.
