Daniel M. Halulko Jr., 85, of Washington, passed away Sunday, February 16, 2025. He was born April 10, 1939, in Joffre, Pennsylvania and raised in Slovan, Pennsylvania, by loving parents Edward F. and Helen Halulko Guna, both deceased. Dan graduated from Burgettstown Union High School in 1957 and the College of Steubenville (now Franciscan University) in 1961 with a degree in accounting and economics. Upon graduation, he was employed by the US Treasury Department as an IRS Agent and held subsequent positions as an auditor for several banks. He retired from Duquesne Light Company in 1999 with 24 years of service. He was a member of St. Hilary Church, an active member of the Washington Camera Club and a 25-year member of American Legion Post 175, having served in the Army National Guard. He was also a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus and served on the board of directors of several credit unions. Dan and his wife, Mary Anne, were married August 3, 1963, and celebrated their 61st anniversary in 2024. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Mary Kay (Steve); a son, Dan (Sue); five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; two brothers, John (Joyce) Guna and Edward (Rosemary) Guna; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., the hour of service, Friday, February 21, 2025, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Deacon Tim Counihan. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Canonsburg. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 862, Carnegie, PA 15106, cancer.org, or to a favorite charity of one’s choice.
