Dana Arvin Wilson, of Washington, PA, passed away on March 28, 2024. Dana was born in Fairmont, West Virginia, the son of the late Mildred Bedilion Wilson and the late William Arvin Wilson. He graduated from West Greene High School and also attended WVU. During his youth, Dana helped raise purebred Hereford beef cattle on his family farm, as well as showing his 4-H projects at local fairs. Dana started his business career as a distributor for Ashland Oil, working for this company for over 20 years. He was a lifelong entrepreneur. Dana owned and operated the Graysville Lawn & Farm Supply (John Deere Equipment) in Graysville, and was the owner of Wilson Western Wear, Wilson Equipment Sales and Rentals, and Wilson Trucking. Dana was a member of the North Buffalo Presbyterian Church in Washington, Pa., where he served as a Trustee. Hobbies that Dana enjoyed were hunting and collecting Remington Company art pieces. Being a very family-oriented man, he especially loved his yearly family beach vacations. He loved and had a passion for doing the work that he did. Dana was the Vice President of the Jacktown Fair. He also was an events announcer at the Jacktown and Washington County Fairs for many years. Dana was a member of the Masonic Sunset Lodge 237 for 46-1/2 years, where he earned a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite. He served in the Army Reserve from 1970-1977, having received an Honorable Discharge in 1977. On February 14, 2003, Dana married the love of his life, Billie Ward. Along with his wife, he is survived by his sister Sue (Jim) Porter, half brother William Wilson, half sister Nancy (Hershel) Wilks, his son Richard (Amy), and grandchildren Dylan and Madison Ward. He is also survived by nieces and nephews Sheryl Ann (Fred) Sorrell, Ella (Troy) Ivey, James (Kendra) Porter II, Erin (Josh) Nikle, and Carrie Ann (Lucas) Moore, as well as many great nieces and nephews. Dana’s larger than life personality and generous spirit, as well as his extraordinary sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He will be most keenly missed by his wife Billie, as he was and always will be the absolute love of her life. Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, April 3rd, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Additional visitation will be held on Thursday, April 4th at North Buffalo Presbyterian Church, 711 Rural Valley Road, Washington from 11 a.m. until 12 noon. The funeral service will follow at noon with Pastor Clayton LaPosta officiating. Burial will follow in North Buffalo Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Cancer Foundation or the North Buffalo Presbyterian Church in Washington, PA 15301.
