Constance “Connie” Jane Kovalski Hawk Richmond, 72, of West Alexander, died December 27, 2021, at home. She was born on June 4, 1949, in Wheeling, WV, the daughter of the late Edward Kovalski Sr. and Betty Funk Kovalski. Connie was a graduate of Wheeling High School and self-employed as an all-breed dog groomer and showed champion Schnauzers. She loved going to horse shows and her children’s music concerts. She met with high school girlfriends for the Tripoli Card Club monthly, and enjoyed classic car club shows and cruises with Ohio Valley Street Survivors and Washington Cruisers. She was a member of the St. Clairsville Ohio Kennel Club, American Miniature Schnauzer Club, American Legion - James R. Hunt Post #639, Women of the Moose Lodge Ch 318 Washington, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles - Auxiliary 1891. Connie was the wife of Thomas Richmond Jr., who is deceased. She is survived by her son, Michael Hawk, of Rayland, OH; daughter, Cherylann Hawk, of Pittsburgh, PA; sister, Christy Koerner, of Glendale, WV; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Leone, Farah, and Faith; and special friend and caregiver, David Alrutz. In addition to her parents and husband, Connie was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Kovalski. On May 7, 2022, The Ohio Valley Street Survivors will be doing a Classic Car Cruise from noon-2pm in the parking lot of the Vineyard Church of Wheeling, 647 Warden Run Rd, Wheeling, WV 26003, where her memorial service will be held at 2pm.
