Clark Barclay Miller, 70, of Prosperity, died Monday, May 8, 2017, in Donnell House. He was born December 13, 1946, in Waynesburg, a son of the late Watson P. and Edna Barclay Miller. Mr. Miller graduated from Washington High School in 1964. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he served in the Air Force from November 20, 1964, until his honorable discharge as a sergeant on April 11, 1969. He was awarded a National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with one bronze service star, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, Air Force Longevity Service Award, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon In 2000, he retired from Verizon after working for 30+ years as a cable splicing technician. Mr. Miller enjoyed motorcycles, fast cars, military history, target shooting, and most of all, his family. He was a member of Amity United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Hesidence; four daughters, Brandy (Rodney) Dziak of Cokeburg, Jessica (Brian) Gromley of Indiana, PA, Clara (Ryan) Chapman of Charleroi, and Shelby Miller of Pittsburgh; a stepdaughter, Emily Hesidence of Boston, Massachusetts; a brother, William D. “Dave” (Suzanne) Miller of Blacksburg, West Virginia; three sisters, Marilyn Pfisterer of Indianapolis, Indiana, Barbara Jo (Richard) Heastings of Washington, and Sandra Sue (Scott) Talbott of Bethel Park; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Peggy McAdams; brothers-in-law, William, John and Patrick Hesidence; and father- and mother-in-law, William and Betsy Hesidence. Deceased is a sister-in-law, Sharon Hesidence. Friends will be received from Noon to 2:30 p.m., on Friday, May 12th, in Amity United Methodist Church, followed by a funeral service at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Lois Swestyn officiating. Burial will follow in Amity Methodist Church Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175 and active-duty Air Force members.
