Christopher Joseph Marion, 78, of Washington, died Friday, December 1, 2017, in UPMC – Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. He was born December 9, 1938, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Christopher Joseph and Mary Santelli Marion. Mr. Marion graduated from Aspinwall High School, attended Youngstown State University and Duquesne University, and served in the Army. He was a Pennsylvania State Police Officer for 30 years and worked with the U.S. Marshals Service for 17 years. A devout Catholic, Mr. Marion was a member of Immaculate Conception Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family as well as his dog, whom he loved, and liked trains. Mr. Marion was proud of his Italian heritage and enjoyed a meal of pasta. On April 22, 1978, he married Carol Abraham, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Michael Marion of Washington; three daughters, Andrea (Philip) Sullivan of North Huntington, Christine (Michael) Dunkle of Meyerstown, and Julie (James) McGrody of North Huntington; a brother, Paul (Michele) Marion of Center Township; three sisters, Gemma McLay of Monroeville, Cabrina (James) Vioral of Gibsonia, and Marie Savko of Oakmont; seven grandchildren, Andrew Bernett, Jordan Bernett, Alexandra Bernett, Philip Sullivan, Ryan Dunkle, Colton Dunkle and James McGrody; two great-grandchildren, Arley and Harper Weaver; and two children from a previous marriage, Matthew Marion and Melissa Nowakowski. Deceased is a grandson, Brandon Bernett. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 7th, in Immaculate Conception Church. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
