Christine Floyd was born on January 7, 1937 to Richard and Mamie Keyes, in Jacksonville, North Carolina, and she finished her course at the age of 85, on January 22, 2022. She married James Edward Floyd II, on August 29, 1954. Fulfilling Christine's desire to be surrounded by the laughter of children, they were blessed with Christine Satterfield, Joann Floyd, James Edward Floyd III, and Alvin Floyd. A loving and caring individual, Christine always put the needs of others before herself. She never met a stranger, and the bright smile, and warm hugs that were her calling card, were shared with all who came in contact with her. She was the life of any party she found herself at. During her many years working as a Nurse's Aide at Western State School and Hospital, her tender ways comforted so many who found themselves somewhat alone in the world. Christine enjoyed constructing jigsaw puzzles, knitting, crocheting and doing word searches. She had a great love for people, but nothing would supersede her love for God. She was a member of Apostolic Christian Temple at 164 West Wylie Avenue, in Washington, where her pastor and leader is Pastor Myron C. Jones II. Minister Christine Floyd served in various capacities at the church, including several committees, such as the Shepherd's Committee, First Lady's Appreciation Committee, Life Center Dining Room and Kitchen Committee, the Building Fund Committee, and the Usher Board Committee. She also served faithfully as a Sunday School teacher, and as one of the ministers of Apostolic Christian Temple. Minister Christine had a servant's heart. She had the privilege of being welcomed by the church family, who loved and embraced her when she lived in Brooklyn, NY for four years, and on her many trips back to visit family. Emmanuel Temple Church became her home away from home, where she sat under Bishop Tommy Seals, and the current Leader and Overseer, Bishop Ray B. Johnson. Because she was such a praying woman, she served in the capacity of Prayer Clinic vice president, as well as on the Emmanuel Temple Church Choir. Christine is predeceased by her parents, Richard and Mamie, and her husband, James. Remaining, to cherish her memory, are her children, Christine (Diane) Satterfield, Joann (Joey) Floyd, James "Jim" E. (Kristie) Floyd III, and Alvin Floyd; her grandchildren, Jamie Satterfield, Francis Satterfield, Dwayne Satterfield, Kisha Neal, Jennifer McCraken, Jessica Anesetti, Jordan Floyd, and Jocelyn Floyd; a host of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; extended family members, Kimberley Walker, Minister Glen (Arlene) Forde, Mae Chandler, and Frances Gardner; as well as her Apostolic Christian Temple, and Emmanuel Temple church families. Friends will be received on Friday, January 28, 2022, from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA, with Pastor Myron C. Jones II officiating. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples. If ye have love one to another. ~ John 13:35
