Chiquita Leann Amos Burbank Pearson

Chiquita Leann Amos Burbank Pearson, 74, of Washington, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in Washington Hospital. She was born July 26, 1950, in Waynesburg, a daughter of the late James Earl Amos and Barbara Lee Lang Amos. Chiquita was a 1969 graduate of Trinity High School and a 1982 graduate of Penn Commercial, where she earned an associate’s degree. She proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Army Reserves. Chiquita was a truck driver for 630th Military Transportation, where she was the first female retiree. She was a member of First Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 175, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Daughters of the American Revolution. Chiquita loved Christmas and watching Christmas movies. She also loved wearing pajamas and had quite a collection of them. She enjoyed genealogy, watching NCIS, playing dartball and spending time with her family. On August 2, 1997, she married James Van Pearson Sr., who survives. Also surviving are a son, Jarrod (Jody) Burbank; a daughter, Michelle (Josh Goldbogen) Burbank; a stepson, Jimmy (Kelly) Pearson; two stepdaughters, Donita Bush and Rhonda Winters; two grandchildren, Ashley Burbank and Ryan Burbank; a stepgrandchild, Hailey Pearson; many great-grandchildren; two brothers, William L. Amos and Roy C. (Sherri) Anderson; an aunt, who was like a sister to her, Linda Tharp; ; a cousin, Tressa Tharp and Jerah (Jamie) Tharp; three nieces, Amanda Amos, Stephanie Anderson and Barbara Howard; and a nephew, Travis Amos. Deceased are a stepson, Johnny Pearson, and a brother, Mickey Amos. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday and Monday in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, 2025, with Pastor Rob Grewe officiating. Interment will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. Military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 175.
