Charles Edward Stedman, 91, of Leesburg, Virginia, formerly of Washington, passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2024, in his home. He was born November 14, 1932, in Washington, a son of the late Robert William Stedman Sr. and Ethel W. Boone. Charles attended Washington High School, Class of 1952. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having been awarded the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Ribbon. Charles retired from the US Postal Service, after 29 years of service. He was a member of the Washington First Church of the Nazarene. Charles and his wife enjoyed traveling. They visited numerous national parks and all 50 states. On October 28, 1961, he married his loving wife, Janet M. William Stedman, who survives. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a daughter, Susan (Steven Pastore) Stedman, and a granddaughter, Eliza Pastore. Deceased are a brother, Robert Stedman Jr., and a sister, Dorothy Jean Stedman. Friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in William G. Neal FuneralHomes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will begin at 12 p.m., followed by burial in Washington Cemetery.
