Charles Clifford “Chuck” Steadman, Sr., 72, of Washington, died on Saturday, November 25, 2023, in his home, surrounded by loving family. He was born on July 15, 1951, in Canonsburg, a son of the late Charles William and Ann Crawford Steadman. Chuck enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at the young age of seventeen, following in the footsteps of his older brothers, Jimmy and Tommy. He was also a Presidential and Color Guard. Mr. Steadman cruised the Mediterranean Sea and also on the U.S.S. Springfield, where he was able to meet some of his Italian relatives. Charles retired from the Washington Hospital where he had worked for 36 years as a control engineer. He enjoyed sports, having coached his son’s little league baseball teams and taking him wrestling tournaments every weekend, as well as watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates and Penguins games with his wife Teresa. On September 10, 1998, he married Teresa April “Terry” Clutter, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Charles C. (Amanda) Steadman, Jr., Chris (Tonya) White and Justin (Paige) White; a daughter, Crystal (Jimmy) Morris; a brother, Thomas A. (Debbie) Steadman; ten grandchildren, Charles A. “Tony” Steadman, Sasha Steadman, Zaleigha Steadman, Theodore Steadman, Robert “Bobby” Sherrow, Calvin Sherrow, Jorden White, Bailey White, Colby White and Brenden Sanders; and two great grandchildren, Sereya Sherrow and Erys Sherrow. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., with Thomas Steadman presiding.
