Charles David Baker, 79, of Washington, died Friday, October 25, 2024, in Transitions Healthcare of Washington. He was born December 27, 1944, in Washington, a son of the late Charles Ezra Baker, Jr., and Ruby Danley Baker. Mr. Baker worked for Veolia Water Systems and PPG Industries as an electrical designer. He loved his grandchildren and spending time with friends and family and enjoyed working outdoors. Mr. Baker was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A Vietnam Veteran, he served in the Air Force from February 12, 1963, until his honorable discharge on November 1, 1966, earning the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, and Good Conduct Medal. On June 19, 1965, he married Judith Ann Mogan, who died September 11, 2024. Surviving are a daughter, Cindy Lou (Philip) Mounts; a son, Kelley David Baker; three grandchildren, William Hughes III, Courtney Baker, and Chloe Baker; and a great-granddaughter, Jayde Hughes. Deceased, in addition to his parents, is a sister, Geraldine Baker. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, October 31st, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, November 1st, with Second Counselor Edward Greenwald officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded graveside by Claysville American Legion.
