Charlene Grace Macdonald

Charlene Grace MacDonald, 85, passed away quietly on October 1, 2023. She is reunited with her husband of nearly 48 years, Robert “Mac” C. MacDonald, who passed away in 2017. Charlene is the daughter of the late Charles Nieder and Bernadette Stinner Nieder. She is survived by her children, Janet Preteroti of Washington, Paul (Sarah) MacDonald of Bethel Park, and Robert (Faith) MacDonald of Fredericksburg, VA. Charlene adored her 5 grandchildren, Keith MacDonald, Anessa and Nick Preteroti; and Willett and Cullen MacDonald. Charlene’s husband, children, grandchildren, and faithful pup, Sandi, were her world. Charlene was a deeply religious woman, whose spirit embodied her love of family and faith. She was an active member of St. James Parish, Immaculate Conception “I.C.” Church of Washington, PA. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters at I.C. Charlene was passionate about quilting, a member of multiple quilting communities over the years, and devoted her time and skill to sharing quilts with others. The family would like to thank Country Meadows Retirement Community for their care and support of mom, and to Bridges Hospice, who ensured her comfort during her final days. Friends will be received on Thursday, October 5, 2023, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., on Friday, October 6, 2023, in St. James Parish, Immaculate Conception Church. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum, in McMurray.
