Catherine "Caye" Eileen Wolfe Adams

November 6, 1945 — May 12, 2024

Catherine “Caye” Eileen Wolfe Adams, passed away Saturday, May 12, 2024. She was born November 6, 1945. Caye was known to many as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and friend. Being a mother was something she embraced with love and kindness. Holidays, birthdays, and any special things in our lives were always filled with love and celebration. She spent her life forming her children to be successful and independent adults. You always felt her love and encouragement. On May 1, 1965, she married Anthony “Tony” Thomas Adams Sr. They were married for 59 years. They had met in high school, so there was a very long history between them. She loved and cared for her husband through sickness and health till death they departed. Marriage produced two children, Michelle Eileen Adams (engaged to Gregory Scolieri) and Anthony “J.R.” (Stacey) Thomas Adams Jr. She had four grandchildren, Chase Allen Ammons, Adison Elizabeth Ammons, Veronica Rose Lopez (Jake), Abigail Morgan Verner, and a great-grandchild, Xavier Ammons. Also surviving are a brother, Frederick Wolfe and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are her parents, Clarence Frederick Wolfe and Rozella Day Wolfe and a sister, Donna Schachter. Caye was a 1963 graduate of Trinity High School. She attended Penn Commercial, class of 1965. Her work career included Cox Caldwell on Main Street in Washington, WIC, Washington and Greene County Community Action and Washington County Voter Registration as a supervisor. Along with being a volunteer at the Red Cross, she always made time to be a part of the PTA at her children’s school for many years, including being past president, and was “home room mother” for years. She was often at the school more than her children to make it a better place. Caye enjoyed cooking and collecting cookbooks, loved fashion, and decorating her home while caring for her husband and family. At Christmas time, she would spend hours baking Christmas cookies with her mother to share with family and friends. Her husband, children and friends will miss her loving devotion to them. Her kind selfless nature left a mark on so many. May she rest in peace after a well lived life of loving and caring for others. Family and friends will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., the time of service, Friday, May 17, 2024, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Entombment will be held in Washington Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Citizens Library, 55 South College Street, Washington, PA 15301.
