Carolyn Ruth Penn

Carolyn Ruth Mounts Penn, of Washington, died October 3, 2022, in Washington Hospital. She was born March 7, 1943, in Washington, the daughter of Cephas S. and Ruth Elizabeth Ashmore Mounts. A graduate of McGuffey High School, Carolyn was a Homemaker and a Purchasing Clerk at Southmont Presbyterian Senior Care, Washington. She was a 4-H Leader, enjoyed sewing and canning, and loved to read. On December 30, 1961, Carolyn married John F. “Jocko” Penn, Jr., who died January 18, 2021. Surviving is a son, John F. (Kim) Penn, III, of Washington; daughters, Caren R. (Lloyd Ealy) Shadeck, of Claysville, Nancy J. (Tom) Blodgett, of Canonsburg, Betsy (Timothy, Sr.) Cox, of Washington, and Jennifer L. (BJ) Rush, of Washington; sisters, Emma Jane (the late William) Rush, of Claysville, and Nancy Lee (the late John, Sr.) Devenney, of Washington; grandchildren, Jordan (Aulbrey) Engle , Timothy (Brittany) Cox, Jr. , Nathan (Danielle) Penn , Nicholas (Casey) Cox , Nicole Shadeck, Dylan Shadeck, Joel Rush, Gloria Rush, Jay Rush, Jon Rush, Grant Rush, Cora Blodgett, Colton Blodgett, and Blake Blodgett; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Miley, Andi, and Mason; brother-in-law, David H. (Judy) Penn, of Claysville; and sister-in-law, Marjorie Macneal, of Claysville. Family and friends will be received Thursday, October 6, 2022, 2-4 pm, and 6-8 pm, at Taylorstown Presbyterian Church, 31 Main St, Taylorstown, PA 15365, the place of service Friday, October 7, 2022, at 10 am. Interment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
