Carol Jean White

Carol Jean White, 66, of Washington, died unexpectedly on Thursday, June 21, 2018.  She was born August 14, 1951, in Craley, a daughter of the late Rev. Dr. Robert L. Close and Phyllis (Oberholtzer) Close. Carol graduated from Albright College in 1973 and then earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. White was a family physician. A life-long learner, she had an interest in science and nature.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, crocheting, and spending time with family and friends.  Surviving are a daughter, Dr. Rebecca (Ralph) Pietrofesa of Harrisburg; a son, Nate (Rebecca) White of Uniontown;  two sisters, Christine (Rev. David) Brinker of York and Rev. Cecily Eisley of Ralston; two grandchildren, Arlyn and Eva White; and several nieces and nephews. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her.  A celebration of her life will be held at a later date. William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, is handling the arrangements.
