Carol Ann Chappel

Carol Ann Chappel, 64, of Washington, died on Sunday, September 22, 2019, in the Washington Hospital. She was born on August 3, 1955, in Washington, a daughter of the late John S. and Ellen L. Young McMullen. A graduate of Washington High School, she was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church. Carol loved attending her children’s sporting events.  She also enjoyed cooking, and birdwatching, especially the live bald eagle webcams, and loved hummingbirds and her two pet parrots. On February 14, 1976, she married Franklin Chappel, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Chris Chappel, and Nathan Chappel, both of Washington; and a sister, Sherry (Roger) Mellars, of Peters Township. Deceased are two brothers, John E. McMullen, and Lawrence “Butch” McMullen. Friends will be received on Friday, September 27, 2019, from 2 to 4 p.m., and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 28, 2019. Burial will follow in the Washington Cemetery.
