Carl M. Ivery, 92, of Washington, died January 26, 2024, in his home. He was born June 21, 1931, in Washington, the son of the late James Ivery Sr., and the late Flossie Ward Ivery. A graduate of Trinity High School, he retired from Washington Steel and was a coal miner before working in the steel mill. Carl was a member of John Wesley United Methodist Church, where he was a past trustee and chairman. He was also past president of Bachelor Benedicts. Carl enjoyed spending time outdoors, was an avid Steelers fan, had a strong work ethic, and took pride in his organizational skills. On June 22, 1957, Carl married Mildred F. Dillard Ivery, who died October 29, 2020. Surviving are two daughters, Carla E. Ivery, of Washington, and Dr. Jan M. Ivery, of Atlanta, GA; granddaughter, Christine Ivery, of Washington; and great-granddaughter, Simone Ivery, of Washington; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Ivery, Jr., and Harold Ivery; and a sister who died at birth. Family and friends will be received Thursday, February 1, 2024, 10 am until 12 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, PA 15301, followed by the service at 12 pm with Jerome Kennedy and Debra Mason officiating.
