Carl Duane “Speedy” Bedillion, 80, of Washington, died Saturday, June 3, 2023, in his home, surrounded by his family. He was born December 31, 1942, in Washington, a son of the late George Raymond “Jake” Bedillion and Dorothy Mae Yeager Bedillion. Carl attended Trinity High School. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 66, for over 50 years. He was a member of the Anawana Club and Moose Lodge. Carl enjoyed NASCAR, tractor pulls, road trips, hunting for snapping turtles, and bullshitting with friends, especially Oliver and Jim. He loved his dogs, Dozer and Buddy. On October 9, 1981, he married Karen Grover, who died March 3, 2019. Surviving are four daughters, Patty (Teddy) Michaliszyn, Michele Leyda, Cheri (Stephen) Zofchak, and Nicole Reese; a brother, Ronald Bedillion; a sister, Sandra Luster; 13 grandchildren, Leland and Chelsea Michaliszyn, Ashley Roberts, Alexa Rogozinski, Arica Rae Thornton, Amber Bonelli, Travis Leyda, Sheriden and Shelden Zofchak, Kelsey, Benjamin, Hayden and Addison Reese; four great-granddaughters, Riliegh Myers, Bailey Rogozinski, Peyton and Aspen Bonelli; and many nieces and nephews. Deceased are a daughter, Carla Bedillion; brother, George Bedillion; sisters, Daisy Mae Bedillion, Patty Phillips, and Connie Shrader; and his first wife and mother of his children, Nancy Ashbrook. Friends will be received on Wednesday, June 7th, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, June 8th. Burial will follow in Prosperity Cemetery.
