Betty M. Watson

Betty M. Watson, 88, of Claysville, died October 31, 2022, in Washington Hospital. She was born March 14, 1934, in Washington, the daughter of the late William and Leanna Ealy Jackson. A graduate of Claysville High School, she was a homemaker. Betty loved doing word search puzzles, mowing the lawn, and cooking. She especially loved spending time with friends and family and was affectionately known as “Granny Grouch.” On February 14, 1953, Betty married Andrew Watson, who died November 11, 1970. Surviving are sons, Gary Watson, and Darrell Watson; daughters, Diane Anderson, and Robin Watson; grandchildren, Bobbi (Steve) Gudac, and Tiffany (Ryan) McConnell; great-grandchildren, Dalton, Tori, Landon, Carys, Campbell, and Kenneth; and many nieces and nephews. Betty was preceded in death by her brothers, Clifford, Kenneth, and Wayne Jackson; sisters, Elma Ashmore, Wilma Frye, Georgia Jackson, Ruby Johnson; and son-in-law, Robert Anderson. Friends and family will be received, Monday, November 7, 2022, from 12-2 pm, and 4-6 pm, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, the place of service Tuesday, November 8th at 10 am with Pastor Mike Singo officiating. Interment to follow in Claysville Cemetery.
