Betty Jean Drach, 87, of Nineveh, died on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, in the Washington Hospital. She was born on July 7, 1930, in Enid, Oklahoma, a daughter of the late Paul J. and Thelma M. Chic Baker Betty graduated from Oklahoma A & M (currently known as Oklahoma State University), with an Associate’s Degree. She traveled the world as an Air Force spouse, before settling into her retirement years in upstate New York. Ms. Drach was a career New York State employee, and worked as a Registered Nurse analyst for the Department of Social Security, in New York. For the past three years, she made her home with her daughter Kris, in Ninevah. An avid reader, she never met a mystery novel she did not love. She loved crocheting, knitting and quilting. A great believer in scouting, she served as both a Cub Scout den mother, and in several capacities with the Girl Scouts. She loved music, and passed the love of music to all four of her children. Betty will be remembered for her warmth, humor, smile and kindness. Surviving are a son, Joseph J. (Janet Farrell) Drach Jr., of Washington, DC; three daughters, Ann “Kris” (Chuck Kreuzer) Drach, of Nineveh, Elizabeth J. Knight, of Glen’s Falls, NY, and Tracy M. (Renee Jennings) Drach, of Pittsburgh; a brother, Bob D. (Sally) Baker, of Houston, TX; two grandchildren, Christopher (Carly) Knight and Stefan Drach; and two great-grandchildren, Oliver and Eli Knight, At the request of the deceased, all arrangements are private, and are entrusted to the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA.
