Betty A. Marra Verderber DeGiovanni, 87, of Washington, died November 29, 2023, in the Washington Hospital. She was born June 22, 1936, in Washington, the daughter of the late, John and Olga Lindberg Marra. A 1954 graduate of Trinity High School, she was “The Spirit of Beauty” her senior year. She worked at JCPenney, and Columbia Gas in customer service and accounting. Betty was a member of the First Lutheran Church. She enjoyed going to the Senior Citizen Center with her friends every week for lunch. She also enjoyed bowling, attending Wild Things games, and crocheting. But mostly she loved spending time with family and friends. Betty is survived by two sons, David (Amy) Verderber, and Mark Verderber; a brother, Bob (Rita) Marra; two sisters, Kathy (Pat) Mondock, and Judy (Frank) Dombrowsky; grandchildren, Brandon (Whitni) Verderber, and Laura (Prather) Silverhorn; great-grandchildren, Riley, Teddy, and Spencer; sister-in-law, Ruth Marra; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Richard Marra; sisters, Sylvia (Charles) Korte, and Karen (Daryl) Adams; and former husbands, James Verderber, and Arthur “Buzz” DeGiovanni. At the request of the deceased, all services were private. The family is planning a memorial service at a later date, that is yet to be determined.
