In Loving Memory of Bernadette Mary Scholato

Bernadette Scholato, 81, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was the devoted wife of the late Thomas Scholato, a former school board member, and the cherished matriarch of her family. Born to the late Elizabeth and Bernard Laibinis, she was undoubtedly welcomed home with open arms.

Bernadette was a mom in every sense of the word. She took immense pride in caring for her family, dedicating her life to nurturing those she loved. She offered not only her unconditional support but also wisdom, comfort, and an unwavering presence to all who needed her. She was a confidant, a source of strength, and never short of really good advice—whether you wanted it or not.

She loved fiercely and lived fully. Whether she was embracing the challenge of a crossword puzzle, basking in the sun at the beach, or cherishing time with her beloved dogs, Louie and Archie, Bernadette found joy in life’s simplest pleasures. But above all, her greatest joy was her family. Her love knew no bounds, and her legacy of warmth and devotion will live on in the hearts of those she touched.

Bernadette is survived by her children, Tommy, Renee, Erin, Denine, and Ryan; her sister, Elizabeth Novack; 12 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was also blessed with many dear friends who adored her and will forever hold her memory close.

A celebration of her life will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4, 2025, at 640 North Wade Ave., Washington, PA 15301.
