Barbara Weddle, 99, of Weirton, West Virginia, formally from Washington, Pennsylvania, passed away Monday, July 1, 2024, in the Carriage Inn of Steubenville, Ohio. She was born March 21, 1925, in Lakehurst, New Jersey, a daughter of the late Grover Farris and Bathsheba Howes Farris. Barbara was a homemaker. She was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church in Washington. Barbara loved making mini houses out of wood and rocks. She also enjoyed painting and was very crafty. On March 24, 1946, she married her husband, T. Eugene Weddle, who passed away March 11, 2022. A son, Kenneth E. Weddle, also preceded her in death in 2005. Surviving are a daughter, Laura M. (Doug) Johnson of Weirton, West Virginia; three grandchildren, Kelli (Steve) Weddle Wick, Jeffrey (Cindy) Weddle and Heather (Andrew) Hanson; and 10 great-grandchildren, Chloe, Mallory and Carter Wick, Belinda (Collin) Hemann, Elizabeth and Jacob Weddle, Meredith (Sam) Moore, and Autumn, Andrew and Lillian Hanson. Deceased, in addition to her parents, husband and son, are siblings Robert Farris, Bill Farris and Muriel Stacy. A graveside service will be held Friday, July 12, 2024, at 11:45 a.m., in Washington Cemetery, with Pastor Fred McCloskey officiating. Those attending the service are asked to meet at 11:15 a.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, for a procession to the cemetery. A memorial luncheon will follow the service in Calvary Baptist Church, 1701 Ridgewood Drive, Washington, PA 15301. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church.
