Barbara Jo Craig Noble, 87, of Washington, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, in her home. She was born May 9, 1937, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Ohio County, a daughter of the late William Edwin Craig and Annabella Maude Curtis Craig. Barbara grew up in Claysville and was a graduate of Claysville High School in 1955. After graduation, she worked for several years as a secretary at McCreight Law Office in Washington. On April 15, 1972, she married the love of her life, William Henry Noble. They were happily married for 41 wonderful years until his passing on January 12, 2014. She enjoyed staying in touch with former classmates, reading, and playing cards with friends in the community. “Aunt Barbara” was one of her favorite roles as she was an avid attendee and fan of her nephew’s games and later her great-nephew. Barbara was an active member of Avery United Methodist Church, where she participated in volunteer contributions and many activities. She will be missed by her fuzzy friend, her cat, Benny, who stayed by her husband’s side through his illness and her for years after. Surviving are a brother, William Wade Craig of Claysville; two sisters-in-law, Glenda McPherson Craig of Canonsburg and Janet Mankey of Washington; a niece, Rhonda Lee Craig (Jarrod) McAdoo of Greensburg; a nephew, William Kevin (Trisha Ann Varish) Craig of South Fayette; and three great-nephews, Aiden James and Logan William McAdoo of Greensburg and Ryan McPherson Craig of South Fayette. Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., the hour of service, Monday, December 23, 2024, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Bill Lawler officiating. Interment will be held in Washington Cemetery.
