August Vincent “Augie” Paul, 90, of Washington, passed away Monday, August 7, 2017, rejoining his beloved wife of 62 years. Mr. Paul spent his final hours with his family, passing away in the Donnell House after a short stay at Strabane Woods. He was born January 22, 1927, in Triadelphia, West Virginia, a son of the late Samuel Paulowitch and Mary Uhlick Paulowitch. A 1944 graduate of Trinity High School, Mr. Paul was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Forces, where he was a waist gunner on a B29 and assigned to the Pacific Theater. He was honorably discharged on December 7, 1946, as a Private First Class. For 40 years, Mr. Paul worked for Bell Telephone as a splicer. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, playing double pinochle and spending time with his family. Mr. Paul was a member of Covenant Life Fellowship, Washington. On October 9, 1948, he married Marilyn Lucille Morris, who passed away on April 14, 2011. Surviving are a son, Donald W. (Jodie) Paul of New Haven, Vermont; two daughters, Joyce (David) Danley of Claysville and Ruth (Tom) Lang of Houston; six grandchildren, Jennifer Danley, Joshua (Jeanie) Danley, Amy Lang, Jim Paul, Matthew (Whitney Marie) Paul, and Michael (Whitney) Paul; seven great-grandchildren, Christian Forsythe, Clarissa Mitchell, Phoenix Heffner, and McKenna, Quintin, Kenzie and Teagan Paul; and one great-great grandchild, JayLynn Walters. Deceased are brothers, William, Eugene, John and Sam Paul. Friends will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, August 10th. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded graveside by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
