Anthony R. “Tony” Goudy, 50, of Washington, died September 4, 2018. He was born September 14, 1967, in Washington, a son of Faith “Cookie” Goudy Girten of Washington and the late Benjamin Girten. A 1987 graduate of Washington High School, Mr. Goudy served in the Marine Corps from 1987 – 1991, and participated in Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He worked as a police officer in Scotland Neck, North Carolina, prior to moving back to Washington to start a family. Mr. Goudy earned an associate’s degree in HVAC from Penn Commercial, then started Goudy Heating and Air. In addition, he was an instructor in HVAC at Pittsburgh Technical Institute. His favorite pastimes were fishing and spending time with his family. Mr. Goudy and his wife adopted five children and were foster parents to many others through the years. He was a member of South Hills Bible Chapel. On April 20, 1990, he married April Ahrens, who survives. Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are seven children, Ronnel (Katie) Goudy of West Virginia, Joscelyn Goudy and Jensine Goudy, both of Washington, Jacie Goudy of New York City, Jorryn Goudy, Juleah Goudy, and Jayelle Goudy, all of Washington; a sister, Terri Goudy (Paul Clark) of Portsmouth, Virginia; and five grandchildren, Ronnel, Kingston, Kasyn, Keelyn and Bryce. Deceased, in addition to his father, are his grandparents, William and Martha Jones. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, September 18th, in South Hills Bible Chapel, 300 Gallery Drive, McMurray, with Pastor Nate Edwards and Zeb Thomas officiating. Private burial will be held in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township.
