Ann V. Phillips, 92, of Washington, died Thursday, May 20, 2021, in North Strabane Rehabilitation. She was born November 29, 1928, in Washington, a daughter of Harry and Henrietta Ringer Rankin. Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker who had worked at G.C. Murphy’s for a few years. She loved her children and grandchildren and was a wonderful grandma. A member of Glenn Street Free Methodist Church, Mrs. Phillips loved her church family as well as playing the organ and singing. On May 24, 1947, she married Wiley Raymond Phillips, Sr., who died August 6, 2020. Surviving are three children, Wiley R. (Nancy) Phillips, Jr., of Washington, Trudy A. (Lou) Mazza of McMurray, and Frank B. (the late Dana) Phillips of Washington; two brothers, Jim Rankin and Ron Rankin; three sisters, Frieda Ritz, Dean Fischer, and Dottie Campbell; seven grandchildren, Sheri Lippencott, Wiley R. Phillips III, Robert Phillips, Rosie Rae Ruiz, D. Shane Phillips, Charla DePereira, and Paula Scarfo; and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Deceased are a grandson, Bill Newman, Jr., and siblings, Harry Rankin, Bob Rankin, Gladys Bush, Irene Crupe, Jane Williams and Don Rankin. Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 25th, from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Bob Neel officiating.
