Aldo R. Ropele, 78, of Washington, formerly of Clarksville, died June 2, 2018, in Premier Washington Health Center. He was born October 21, 1939, in Clarksville, a son of the late Aldo and Mary Erler Ropele. Mr. Ropele graduated from Bethlehem Joint High School in 1958. In August 1958, he enlisted in the Air Force, serving until May 22, 1962. Mr. Ropele worked as a coal miner at the Clyde Mine, then as a truck driver for PI&I. He was a member of the American Legion in Fredericktown and the Centerville Sportsmen’s Club. Mr. Ropele enjoyed fishing and hunting and loved ice cream. Possessing the gift of gab, he enjoyed talking to anyone everywhere. On October 29, 1959, he married Nora M. Craggs, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Anita R. Ropele (Fred Collier) of Washington and Jodi L. Crisman (Jeff) Of Fairborn, Ohio; a brother, John Ropele of Painesville, Ohio; two grandchildren, Maria Nolan (Jared) and Chase Ropele, both of Washington; and three great-grandchildren, Lydia Abbas, James Bell and Jaxson Nolan; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are two daughters, Angela and Ronna Ropele, and a son, Randal Ropele. Private burial was held in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Cecil Township. A celebration of his life will be held from 1 till 5 p.m., Saturday, September 1st, in Pavilion #2, Ten Mile Creek Park, Fredericktown. Covered dishes are welcome.
