Abner "Buddy" Liggett

Abner Jackson “Buddy” Liggett, Jr., 67, of West Finley, died on May 6, 2017, in his home.    Born on October 27, 1949, he was a son of the late Abner Jackson Liggett and the late Leora Moore Liggett Fonner.   Mr. Liggett was employed at Citizens Library until his retirement in 2015.  He was known for his honesty, straightforwardness and loving heart.  He enjoyed his country home and had great fondness for his dogs.   Surviving are his brother Jeffery L. (Laura) Liggett; a niece Inza L. (Kenneth) Duchi; a nephew Jeffery D. (Jennifer) Liggett; a step-niece Carrie L. (Matthew) Lutz; several aunts; an uncle; and numerous cousins.   A memorial service will be held at 7 PM, Thursday, June 1 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church, 901 N. Main St., Washington, with Dr. Robert Williams officiating.    Memorial contributions may be made to Citizens Library, 55 South College Street, Washington, PA 15301.   Interment will be private.
